The BLMK Suicide Prevention Network is a group of individuals that all have an interest in and work towards preventing suicide across BLMK from a range of different organisations including those from VCSE, health, education, workplaces, criminal justice, local authority and those with lived experience.

BLMK Suicide Prevention Network

The group meets virtually every quarter to discuss local and national action in suicide prevention, sharing good practice, evidence and intelligence as well as local campaigns and training opportunities. The network provides opportunities for local organisations to share their work in the suicide prevention field and look at opportunities to work together. As part of the network members receive regularly updates on suicide prevention work.

BLMK Suicide Prevention Action Plan

The BLMK Suicide Prevention Action Plan combines actions by local authorities, mental health and health care services, primary care, community-based organisations and voluntary agencies, employers, schools, colleges and universities, the police, transport services, prisons and others.

BLMK Suicide Prevention Steering Group

This multi-agency group is made up of a small number of key representatives from organisations working across the system including coroner office, mental health services, police, public health, ICB, VCSE and lived experience. This group meets every 6 weeks to:

Understand patterns of suicide and collate data
Steer the development of the local suicide prevention strategy and action plan
Develop and coordinate responses to suicide and activities to reduce suicide
Make strategic links across sectors, to influence commissioning decisions and secure funding.
